Salient
features of the V.C. held on 07.04.14. on SVEEP.
Ø
We have a total No. of 264
booths where the polls recorded in the last Parliament General Election were
barely 10% of the average. So, to enhance voters’ turn- out percentage (VTR) a
special SVEEP drive has to be launched.
Ø
Our strategy to enhance VTR
would include a dedicated tableau with all IEC materials provided by ECI to be displayed prominently and one artist
will have to be engaged by DICO for this purpose.
Ø
As per the instruction we
have to make at least 10 polling stations as
model booths. Apart from this, Punisole, a village falling under Onda-254 AC which will have 21 model booths. Besides, two each from
Khatra, Bankura Municipality and Bishnupur Municipality will be model
booths.
Ø
The No. of vulnerable
electors residing in areas – particularly, in LWE blocks - has to be
ascertained or assessed keeping in mind the trend of percentage of votes is
very low. 4 such blocks under 3 A.Cs have been identified in this connection.
Ø
As this district comes under
the ambit of e-governance, facilities
like common service centre for issuing of
residential, caste certificate etc. we can make use of this CSC as voters facility centre as well
during the election period.
Ø
We have almost 59406 new
voters as on date. So we will launch a special drive in colleges and
educational institutions to ensure their participation in the electoral process
and as a part of we will appoint campus ambassadors among the eminent persons
like retired professors etc. who will motivate the new voters to exercise their
franchise.
Ø
We will ask BSNL for bulk
messages to the voter from P-5 day till P-day
to cast their votes.
Ø
Among the tribals
particularly Santhals, DICO will be requested to campaign in alchiki script in
some adivasi festivals like Hunting Festival/ Baha/Disom / Sikaria. We have to
make adequate police arrangement on this occasion on 09/4 and 10/4. The aid of
audio visual media will be taken for this task.
Ø
We have to take special note of any decision for boycott
of polls in any part of the constituency. Oftentimes, these are propelled by
local grievances. We may address such issue beforehand, if possible, to
preclude any such possibility of boycott of polls.
Ø
In 102 polling stations there
is no drinking water facility or ground water resource, we can sink new
tube-wells or make the old ones functional with the fund available of SDR or
fund placed for election purpose for basic minimum facilities.
Ø
We will meet media persons as
on 12.04.14. on the first day of nomination.
